Change my connected bank

If this is your first time connecting a bank with M1, check out this step by step guide.

 

How you change your connected bank will depend on which M1 accounts you currently have open.

  • If you have an M1 High-Yield Savings Account or M1 Checking Account, click here.
  • If you only have M1 Invest Accounts, click here.

 

How to change your bank with an M1 Savings or Checking Account

 

When you have an M1 Savings or Checking Account, you can change your bank connection on the Web or an iOS device.

Please note, there can only be one external bank connected to your M1 account at a time and you can change your bank up to three times a day.

Before you begin, ensure you don’t have any pending scheduled transfers.

 

Web

  1. From the home screen, click the name of your current bank account above the “Move Money” button.Bank Connection 1.png
  2. Select “Connect a new bankBank Connection 2.png
  3. Your current bank connection will become unlinked so you can connect a new bank account or reconnect a previously connected account.Bank Connection 3.png

If you run into trouble changing your bank on Web, please disable your ad blockers.

 

iOS

1. From the home screen, tap “All activity” next to the Recent Transfers section or click here.

2. Tap on the name of your current bank account under “Linked bank”.

3. Tap “change”.

4. Your current bank connection will become unlinked so you can connect a new bank account or reconnect a previously connected account.

If you don’t see the option to change your bank, please update your app and try again.

 

How to change your bank for M1 Invest Accounts

 

You can manage your bank connection on the Web and on iOS and Android devices.

Before you begin, ensure you don’t have any pending scheduled transfers.

 

Web

  1. Navigate to the Invest tab and select the account you are changing the bank connection to from the drop-down menu.

Mobile

1. Navigate to the Invest tab for the account you are changing the bank connection to.

2. Tap (≡) on the top left.
