If you are using your M1 Checking Visa® debit card overseas you may incur an international fee.
A foreign transaction fee, or international transaction fee is added to transactions processed outside of the United States. In other words, they're in play both when you're traveling abroad and when you're conducting business with internationally based merchants. The percent charged is dependent on whether the transaction is settled or unsettled.
Unsettled: When you use your M1 Checking Visa® debit card outside of the United States and the merchant does not settle transactions in US dollars, you will be charged a 1% conversion fee.
Settled: When you use your M1 Checking Visa® debit card outside of the United States, and the merchant does settle the transaction in US dollars, you are charged a 0.80% International Assessment fee.
You will not be charged both fees at one merchant.
If you are an M1 Plus member you will be reimbursed for International fees. The credit will be reflected on your account by the 10th of every month.
