What is the Dividend Income Tracker?

The Dividend Income Tracker is an account-level view that shows your paid, pending, and estimated dividend income over a selected time range, highlighting historical and upcoming payments so you can see what you’ve earned and what’s coming. Dividends are displayed in a bar chart and table.

Dividend Income Tracker metrics definitions:

  • Paid income: Income that has already been paid to your account.

  • Pending income: Past ex-date, not yet paid. Buying or selling the security will not impact the dividend income paid.

  • Estimated income: Projections based on historic dividend yield and your current holdings. Payment is not guaranteed*

  • Total income: Paid + Pending + Estimated for the selected timeframe.

  • Dividends earned: Paid + Pending

*Estimates can change with company announcements, price/yield changes, or changes to your holdings.

Dividend Income Tracker components:

Dividend Income bar chart

  • Reflects Estimated, Pending, and Paid income by month.

  • Hover on web or tap on mobile to see an income breakdown and the top three dividend income paying securities for that month.

  • Time-range filters: Next 12 months, this year, next year

Upcoming dividends table

  • Name: Security name and ticker.

  • Ex-dividend date: You must own shares before this date to earn the dividend. Purchasing shares on or after this date does not entitle you to the dividend.

  • Pay date: Expected date the dividend is paid.

  • Shares:

    • Pending: Shares of holdings with a pending status reflect how many shares you owned at the end of the record date. This number is fixed and determines your payment.

    • Estimated: Shares of holdings with an estimated status reflect how many shares you currently own. You can still buy or sell shares of these holdings before the ex-dividend date, which would impact your total payment.

  • Dividend per share: Portion of a company's annual dividends that is distributed to each outstanding ordinary share.

  • Payment amount: Shares × dividend per share for this payment. Not guaranteed until the record date.

  • Status: Estimated (projected or declared, not yet earned) or Pending (past ex‑date, waiting for pay date).

Holdings table

  • Name: Security name and ticker.

  • Last 12 months paid: Total dividends paid to this account from the holding over the past 12 months.

  • Dividend yield: Current annualized dividend divided by the current market price.

  • Yield on cost: Current annualized dividend divided by your average cost per share in this account.

  • Average cost: Your weighted average purchase price per share for this holding in this account.

  • Payout frequency: Typical schedule (monthly, quarterly, semiannual, annual)

Frequently asked questions

Why don’t I see a weekly dividend payer?

  • Weekly payers are excluded from the Upcoming table and bar chart as pending or estimated. When paid, they post to your account and appear in Paid income on the dividend tracker.

What’s the difference between ex-date and record date?

  • Ex-date: You must own the shares before this date to earn the dividend.

  • Record date: The company’s “snapshot” date. Your share count at end of record date determines the payment for that dividend.

If I buy or sell before the ex-date, will my estimate change?

  • Yes. Changes to your position before the ex-date can increase or decrease Estimated income.

  • Estimated income is not guaranteed and can also change due to company announcements or price/yield updates.
