I am an existing M1 client, could I participate in this promotion?

Our most recent ACAT transfer promotion was for new and existing clients who initiated a successful ACAT transfer request during the promotional period.

Does my transfer need to be completed before the promotion expires?

Your transfer does not need to be completed before the promotion expires. The appropriate M1 Invest Account must receive instructions to complete an ACAT prior to expiry of the promotion period. If you received an email from us stating your account transfer was received prior to the end of the promotion expiration, a successful ACAT will be eligible. Any unsuccessful ACAT will be deemed ineligible.

Can I participate in more than one ACAT Transfer Promotion?

Yes, if you participated in an ACAT Transfer Promotion in the past, you are still eligible to participate in any active ACAT Transfer promotions.

Do you cover outgoing transfer fees charged by my previous brokerage?

M1 does not reimburse transfer fees charged by your carrying brokerage. If you are eligible for a promotional credit, these typically cover and often exceed any fees you were charged.

Are 401(k), 403(b), or 457 rollovers eligible for these promotions?

401(k), 403(b), or 457 rollovers are not eligible for our ACAT Transfer Promotion.

I saw in the terms & conditions that retirement accounts cannot receive the credit, will my IRA ACAT transfer be eligible for this promotion?

Any promotional credit earned will be credited towards your M1 taxable Invest Account. A taxable Invest Account is an Individual or Joint Brokerage Account. That being said, while your retirement account will not receive the promotional credit, it can count towards earning the promotional credit.

For example, if you ACAT your Roth IRA to M1, your Roth IRA will not receive any eligible promotional credits. You will need to have a taxable Invest Account, such as an Individual Brokerage Account, open to receive the credit.

If my ACAT is just short of the next tier, can I deposit cash to make up the difference?

When determining the tier your ACAT will fall into, only your ACAT transfer(s) will be taken into consideration. You will not be able to deposit the difference to get to the next tier.

When is the pay-out date?

If you submitted your ACAT transfer request between April 17, 2023 – June 17, 2023 and all the terms and conditions are met, the pay-out date is March 18, 2024.

If you are a new client and submitted your ACAT transfer request between June 26, 2023 – August 14, 2023 and all the terms and conditions are met, the pay-out date is April 30, 2024.

If you submitted your ACAT transfer request between August 15, 2023 – November 15, 2023 and all the terms and conditions are met, the pay-out date is August 15, 2024.

If you submitted your ACAT transfer request between November 16, 2023 – December 25, 2023 and all the terms and conditions are met, the pay-out date is September 30, 2024.

If you submitted your ACAT transfer request between December 26, 2023 – March 31, 2024 and all the terms and conditions are met, the pay-out date is December 5, 2024.

When is the pay-out date?

If all the terms and conditions of our current Seed Fund Tiered Promotion are met, the pay-out date is the last day of the sixth month following sign-up.

For example, if you sign-up on January 14, 2023 and make your deposit within 14 calendar days of your sign-up date, your pay-out date would be July 31, 2023.

I signed up with a referral, can I still participate in this promotion?

If you sign up via a referral code, you are ineligible to participate in our Seed Fund Tiered Promotion, but you are still eligible to participate in our ACAT Transfer Promotion.

If I signed-up a while ago but never funded my account, can I still participate in this promotion?

This promotion is only for new clients who create an M1 account and fund it within 14 calendar days of sign-up. After the 14 calendar days elapses, you will no longer be eligible for this promotion.

What type of transfers are eligible?

Only ACH transfers to a taxable Invest Account are eligible.

Are 401(k), 403(b), or 457 rollovers eligible for these promotions?

401(k), 403(b), or 457 rollovers are not eligible for our ACAT Transfer Promotion.

Can I fund any type of account to be eligible?

M1 taxable Invest Accounts are eligible for this promotion. A deposit into an IRA or Crypto Account is not eligible.

If I do an ACAT transfer during this time frame, can my ACAT qualify for both this promotion and the current ACAT Transfer Promotion?

While you are able to participate in both our current ACAT Transfer Promotion and our Seed Fund Tiered Promotion, ACAT transfers are not eligible for this promotion. Any ACAT transfers done in this time frame could qualify you for our current ACAT Transfer Promotion, but not our Seed Fund Tiered Promotion. You are able to participate in both promotions separately.

I forgot to sign up with my referral code.

To be eligible for a referral credit you must use a referral link at the time of sign up.

I made a $100 deposit, why have I not received my credit?

While this is our minimum initial deposit requirement on the platform, with our current referral program, you will need to deposit $10,000 or more into your M1 Invest Account within 30 days of your account opening to be eligible.

My friend got paid, why have I not?

You will receive a $75 referral bonus in your Payment Account within 14 business days of your friend successfully opening an M1 account and funding it with at least the Account Opening Minimum Amount for the subsequent 30 calendar day period. Your friend will also receive their $75 referral bonus in their Payment Account within 14 business days of successfully opening an M1 account with your unique referral link and funding it with at least the Account Opening Minimum Amount for the subsequent 30 calendar day period.

Any promotional credits earned will need to be credited to a taxable Invest Account. A taxable Invest Account is an Individual Brokerage or Joint Brokerage Account. If you do not have an open and active taxable Invest Account open come the pay-out, you will not receive the credit. Please reach out to us once you have opened a taxable Invest Account and we can issue any eligible credit.

Can I participate in the referral program and other promotions?

If you sign up via a referral code, you are ineligible to participate in our Seed Fund Tiered Promotion, but you are still eligible to participate in our ACAT Transfer Promotion.

Is there a limit to how many referrals I can make?

Currently, clients can earn a maximum of 10 referral bonuses within a calendar year. You can share your Referral Link an unlimited number of times, but no additional promotional payment will be paid to you.
