Up to $5,000 of your deposit is immediately available to use in your Crypto Account. The remaining balance becomes available once your full transfer settles.

Settlement period, holding period, and AML regulations

Withdrawals, Margin Loan transfers, and internal transfers involving M1 investment accounts are subject to the following:

Settlement period

Before funds can be withdrawn, all sales must settle. Settlement occurs on T+1 (trade date plus one trading day).

Example: If you sell securities on Friday, settlement is typically completed on the following Monday.

Holding period

New deposits to M1 Invest require a 6-business-day holding period before they can be withdrawn to an external bank.

Example: Deposit $500 on Monday; withdrawal is available beginning the following Tuesday.

Note: Incoming ACAT transfers to M1 Invest require a 15-business-day holding period before external withdrawal or moving to an M1 High-Yield account.

Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations

For 60 days after receipt, funds can only be returned to the same bank they came from. Funds cannot be sent to a different bank during this period.
