How to submit a Charitable Donation Request

  1. Please login and click “Help” in the lower left corner on Web or tap "Client Support" on Mobile .

  2. When prompted to “Ask a question” you can enter that you’d like to complete a "Charitable donation."

  3. You’ll then be walked through the steps to ensure your account is prepared for the request and enter the details tied to the request to get your Charitable Donation request submitted. This will then be passed to our team for processing.

Can I donate from any M1 account type?
M1 supports Charitable Donations from all taxable brokerage account types, excluding custodial accounts. IRA charitable donations are supported as well.

Can I donate partial shares?

No, only full shares can be transferred as part of a Charitable Donation transfer.

Ex: If you own 10.4 shares of AAPL, you can donate 10 shares, but the remaining .4 shares cannot be donated.

Are there fees associated with charitable donations?
Yes, there is a $25 per security fee for Charitable Donations. Ex: If you are donating 13 shares of AAPL and 10 shares of AMZN, you will be charged $50, or $25 per security.
