How to change your password, email, address, or phone number on M1

You can update your login credentials and contact information in your M1 account. Some updates can be completed in your online account, while others may require identity verification for your security.

Reset your password

If you forgot your password or want to update it, you can reset your password at any time.

How to reset your password:

  1. Go to the M1 login page.

  2. Click Forgot Password

  3. Enter the email address associated with your account.

  4. Follow the instructions sent to your email to reset your password.

Change your email address

Clients can update their email address within the Profile tab in account settings.

Web:

  1. Log in to your M1 account.

  2. Click your Profile icon (lower left corner).

  3. Go to Settings.

  4. Update your email address.

Mobile:

  1. Log in to your M1 account.

  2. Click the silhouette (top right corner).

  3. Go to Profile.

  4. Update your email address.

Note: A verification code will be sent to the phone number associated with your M1 account to confirm the update.

Update your address

You can update your residential address from your account settings, unless you have certain M1 accounts as listed below.

How to update your address:

  1. Log in to your M1 account on the web.

  2. Click your Profile icon (lower left corner).

  3. Go to Settings > Profile.

  4. Edit your address.

If you have an open High-Yield Savings Account or Personal Loan, you’ll need to contact M1 Client Success to update your address.

Required documentation for address changes submitted through support:

Provide one of the following documents showing your name and new address:

  • A current statement from a financial institution

  • Bill from a television, cable, or satellite provider

  • Home or renters insurance bill

  • Utility bill

  • A photo of a government-issued photo ID with your updated address

Once your identity and documentation are verified, your address will be updated. You’ll receive confirmation within 1 business day.

  • You may receive a change of address notice from Apex, M1’s clearing partner, if they clarify or standardize your address on file (such as updating “St” to “Street” or making ZIP code changes). If your current address is correct, no action is needed.

  • If you did not request a change or have concerns, please contact M1 Client Success.

Update your phone number

You can request to change your phone number using the M1 Client Center for security reasons.

How to request a phone number change:

  1. Log in to your M1 account on the web.

  2. Click Help in the lower left corner (on Web) or tap Client Support on Mobile.

  3. Select Send us a message to start a new conversation.

  4. Choose Update account info from the options and follow the prompts.

Required for phone number changes:

  • A clear photo of your non-expired, government-issued photo ID

Once your identity is verified, your phone number will be updated. You’ll receive confirmation when the change is complete.
