An M1 Margin Loan is typically available on the following account types:

  • Individual/Joint Brokerage Accounts

  • Trust Accounts*

*M1 Trust Accounts are eligible for an M1 Margin Loan if you sign the Margin and Short Agreement when opening up an M1 Finance Trust Account.

M1 Traditional, Roth, and SEP IRAs and Custodial Accounts are not eligible for Margin Loans.

Brokerage accounts on the M1 platform are either fully disclosed to APEX Clearing or cleared through M1 Finance LLC. Please look at your account statement to determine how your account is cleared.
