How do I know a maintenance margin call is issued by M1?

When we issue a maintenance margin call, you must deposit money or sell your securities to bring your account equity back up to the minimum maintenance margin in your M1 Individual/Joint Brokerage Account or Trust Account the Margin Loan is from.

When a maintenance call is issued, you will see the following message once you log in.

M1 will also send you an email notification when there is a margin call on your account.

Brokerage accounts on the M1 platform are either fully disclosed to APEX Clearing or cleared through M1 Finance LLC. Please look at your account statement to determine how your account is cleared.
