M1 is discontinuing the Owner’s Rewards Card following an acquisition of Deserve, our third party partner. Card access will be suspended for users between May 15 and May 28, 2025.
Why is the card program closing?
M1’s card technology partner, Deserve, was recently acquired and has ended support for partner cards, including the M1 Owners Reward Card.
When will my card stop working?
Card access has been suspended with all accounts closed on or around May 28, 2025. You should have received a separate email with your specific deactivation date. After that date, your card will no longer work for purchase transactions. All other obligations will remain, such as minimum payment, payment functionality, etc.
Is M1 planning on offering another credit card?"?
We currently do not have plans to reactivate the Owners Rewards Card or issue another credit card. However, please keep checking in as we may offer this service in the future.
Do I still need to pay off my balance?
Yes. All cardholders remain responsible for repaying any balance. You can continue making payments through the app even after deactivation. Not paying will negatively impact your credit.
Can I still earn rewards?
Eligible purchases made before your deactivation date will still earn rewards. A final rewards payout occurred the first week of June 2025.
Will this affect my credit score?
Your account will be reported as closed to the credit bureaus. The impact varies by individual, but continuing to make on time-payments and keeping balances low can help minimize negative effects.
Do I need to pay off my balance immediately?
No. You may follow the standard payment schedule in your cardholder agreement or choose to pay off your balance early.
Can I still get a replacement card?
No. After May 15, 2025, no new or replacement cards will be issued.
What should I do with my card once it stops working?
There is no risk in keeping or discarding a deactivated card. If you prefer, scratch through the chip and card number with scissors before disposal.
What happens to my card if it’s linked to Apple Pay / Google Pay / online accounts?
Owner Rewards Cards that are connected to any digital wallets will operate the same as physical cards and will be unable to be used for future purchases. We recommend deleting your card from Apple Pay / Google Pay and any linked online accounts.
Will I still have access to my statements?
Yes. You will continue to have access to your statements and account history in the M1 app, even after your card is deactivated or your account is closed.
Customers who have an active balance on their Owner Rewards Credit Card will continue to receive regular statements as well. You can find your statements by accessing your account settings and navigating to the documents tab.
